A new type of football game, free, for smartphones BFB Champions: Global Kick-Off launches in the UK!

Japanese game developer CYBIRD Co., Ltd. launched its new football game BFB Champions: Global Kick-Off in the UK and France today. BFB Champions is free to download for smartphones and is a new kind of football game, bringing an arcade twist to the staid world of soccer management sims. Starring Diego Maradona and Japanese footballing manga star CAPTAIN TSUBASA, the game allows you to take on the role of a football club manager. Collect players for your squad, train them across a multitude of minigames, and then choose your formation and tactics to compete in leagues around the world. And when you have mastered the singleplayer Career Mode, get ready to step up to take part in the game’s regular multiplayer tournaments to see if you have what it takes to become World No.1!

BFB Champions: Global Kick-Off generated over 300,000 downloads in its first week after launching in Japan and Hong Kong earlier this year, and it’s scheduled for release in 29 countries by the end of September – so players can prove their managerial mettle against rivals from all over the world. The game is a sequel to the acclaimed football game BFB 2016. BFB 2016 was downloaded over 3.5 million times in Japan and Hong Kong, and developer Cybird is hoping that BFB Champions will be just as successful in the UK and France.

Thanks to a special preregistration bonus campaign, which saw over 300,000 players sign up before launch, everyone who downloads and plays the game will receive a bunch of in-game bonus items, including Scout Tickets to get more players for your squad, Coach items to train your players, and even Diego Maradona himself, ready to help you take on the world.
